Fall Music

This fall, my soundtrack is all about spare, raw, and rocky. That’s why two songs into Feist’s Metals, I know I’m in a good place. I also finally cracked open The Civil Wars’ Barton Hollow (finally), and I already told you about Needtobreathe’s The Reckoning. Alexi Murdoch (Away We Go soundtrack), Fleet Foxes (Helplessness Blues), and Bon Iver (Bon Iver) are still big winners. In a week or two, Coldplay’s pop-heavy Mylo Xyloto is gonna throw me off my groove, but I already know I’m going to love it. Maybe that can be the neon sign on the lonely musical highway down which I’m driving.

All things considered, it’s a pretty sweet time to be listening to music.
