Antisocial Network

Some friends and I recently agreed that what’s needed on the Internet is an “antisocial network.” This would be a website where you have no friends, share nothing, tag items from across the web as “lame,” “boring,” or “lousy,” and gripe endlessly about any topic you choose in the privacy of your own space.

This was “leetle joke.” But as someone who tends towards being private and sometimes antisocial myself (despite genuinely liking you people a whole heck of a lot), I’m interested in the idea of a “private space” where you can “withdraw,” and only invite a select few into, where they’re not able to comment, only observe. You could fill this space with inspiration or notes worth keeping, and maybe while here, you couldn’t be reached via any of the normal means of notification.

This exists, of course, as something called “turning your phone off and going outside.” Could make for an interesting web experiment, though. We assume the web is social, but would would a private web space look like?

(This blog is kinda one … I’m not building this to gain hits, it’s just a place to collect scraps of things and I like random ideas … like this one.)
