I’ve known for a long time that I should love Radiohead, but I’ve never taken the time to get to know them. (I know, I know, I just destroyed any and all credibility I ever had with you. It took this long? Sheesh.)
To be fair, I’ve given it a sincere try in the past. I’ve made playlists of their albums and done what I could to get a big-picture overview, but it never clicked.
Good news, people with taste: ten minutes ago, I made a Grooveshark playlist of just Pablo Honey, and am listening to it from start to finish. After that, I’ll listen to The Bends, OK Computer, and so on and so forth. This is the right way to listen to it, I know, and I’m finally doing it.
And I was kind of hooked by the middle of “You.” So yeah.
//UPDATE: I’m now a few minutes into OK Computer and I see why people call Coldplay “Radiohead-Lite.” I still unabashedly like them, despite how mainstream that makes me. But this Radiohead, they’re pretty not bad, eh?
