Seems to me that when someone’s errors are exposed (especially leaders), two extreme responses are horror and glee. One reveals a failure to grasp the dark side of human nature while the other shows a lack of desire for good to win out.
I’d like to steer a middle course of active hope — taking action (instead of wallowing in “How in the world could this happen??“) to put right the wrong done, while hoping for the best and the restoration of the person who is at fault.
