“Valtari,” by Sigur Ros, is a concept album about a family who “live in Volterra, Tuscany (Italy). They are regarded as royalty because they have lived for well over 3,000 years and act as police, enforcing the rule that vampires’ existence remain a secret from humans.”
Wait, what? Oh, sorry, that’s from the wiki article on Volturi. Different. Not the same.
Valtari, then, must just be another atmospheric, lovely, nonsensical album from post-rock kings Sigur Ros. And you can listen to it in its entirety for free right now at NPR.
That makes more sense, I think.
//Update: Dauðalogn is a total standout track. Must-hear.
